How to Measure

We know that choosing the right shoe size for your kids can be overwhelming. Let's make it a fun little game with your toddlers with these 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Lay a piece of paper on a hard surface (not carpet) and have the child stand barefoot on the paper with the heel against the wall and toes relaxed. Make sure your child is standing with their full weight on both feet. Outline the foot with a pen.

Step 2: Mark the longest toe & back of the heel  (note: the longest toe is not always a big toe). Mark also the ball of the foot at the widest parts.

Step 3: Use a ruler to measure length from the heel to the longest toe & width across the ball of the foot.

Repeat for other foot and use the longest measurement.

Finally after measuring, add the following allowance to the measured values:

  • add  0.3-0.5 inch (0.7-1.2 cm) to the length
  • add  0.1-0.2 inch (0.2-0.4 cm) to the width

NOW YOU HAVE YOUR SIZE!

Always base your choice on the measurements of the larger foot (each foot can be different).

***Each brand has its own shoe dimensions, therefore look into a size chart for each model and choose shoes based on the dimensions, not the size number. If you are buying your first pair of barefoot shoes, don’t be alarmed if, according to the measurements, you need shoes that are up to two sizes larger.
